Bye, Bye Pre-K

1st Day of Pre-K - - - - - Last Day of Pre-K**

Well, today was LG's last day of Pre-K. She has had a wonderful year with excellent teachers & sweet friends. Each student was presented with a Golden Apple Award & LG's was for her "Cheerful Heart - Prov. 17:22." Mrs. Carol said that some students would arrive each morning & announce, "I'm here!" LG came in each morning without saying anything but with a HUGE "I'm here" grin on her face! LG later told me she did this because she is shy :) Just to end the year off right, LG, E, K & A went with Mrs. Paige to the Hannah Montana movie (M was missed). LG, we are so proud of you & your accomplishments this year...we love you!

**The students didn't have to wear their uniforms on the last day, so, LG decided to wear her "Tybee" dress with her ballet tights & shoes...she accessorized with her FPD headband :)

Memorial Weekend at Tybee

After LG's ballet recital, we went home, picked up MJ, packed the car & headed to Tybee...(well, actually we made a quick stop by H & P's for CW to help P load up a frig. from their basement in the rain in the U-Haul, that P drove to Tybee with 2 dogs :)) What a great weekend even though the weather wasn't great each day. We enjoyed AJ's, Sunrise, Marlin Monroe's, the beach, golf (well, the guys did), the Wii - I beat Chris in bowling & no I will not play him again so I can remain victorious, the rat - aka possum, icecream, sleep, poker, walks, meeting new beach friends, bouncing angels, hot tub, laughs, jellyfish - the "nice" kind, naps, Uncle Pi time, drawing, icepops, ocean breeze, feeding seagulls, people watching, tidal pools, watching the sun break through the clouds, rain on the beach, waves, and yes, there was an LG "conversation" as we were watching a show about marriage...
M: "Who do you think you will marry?"
LG: "I don't know?...but, God's pickin one out, right?"
M: "That's right!"
LG (real serious): "But, NOT one that's ALREADY married, right?"
M (holding in my laugh): "That's right..."
M (a few minutes later, knowing she has an answer): "So, who do you think you'll marry?"
LG (grinning): "W" - so precious & innocent.

Mary Poppins

We were so proud of LG for her ballet performance in Mary Poppins. She had such an adorable class. They have been working all year on their "bird" dance & did a great job! I was impressed with all of the girls dancing on stage in front of a big audience :) We LOVE you, LG!

LG's Grafitti

Today I was inside talking on the phone while LG was outside on the patio "painting." She was painting in one of her coloring books & had shown me some of her beautiful creations. In mid conversation, I happened to look out the window & see LG making a paint stroke on what looked like the brick of our house...no, surely she's not doing that, right? So I knocked on the window & mouthed "NO!", with big eyes while extending my pointer finger - you can picture it. I continued my conversation & thought I had "rescued" the house in time. Not so fortunate - this is what I saw when I walked outside...

Are you kidding me? - - - - - - - Just a little splatter paint

The proud grafitti artist

Thankfully the paint bottles say washable, so LG & I will have a little scrubbing party tomorrow! Daddy is out-of-town & due home tomorrow, so we'll see how it all plays out...

MAMA, Come look what we found

Emory's catepillars - - - - - - - - - - LG's birds nest & eggs

So proud of their nature "finds!"

LG came running in the house, "Mama, Mama, come see what I found!" I wasn't quite sure what to expect, and, was pleasantly suprised by LG's find...a beautiful birds nest with 4 pink eggs in our planter on the back patio - see, if I would have had a plant in there, these baby birdies wouldn't have had a home! Yes, I lack a green thumb! LG & E then took me on some "wood" walks in the backyard, & suddenly, E noticed a beautiful family of yellow catepillars - 4 of them! Of course, they wanted the catepillars to walk on them so we took two off & played with them. Such a joy to see life through the eyes of children...

Girls Trip to Tybee

Asleep BEFORE we even get there - Hello...who's there?

Little Bathing Beauty - - - - - - Wait, can that water get me?

Uncle Pi entertaining the girls - - - - - LG LOVES Uncle Pi

MJ ate a lemon (rind & all)

Daddy played in the Peach Blossom this past weekend, so, you guessed it...the girls & I headed to Tybee to play with Honey & Uncle Pi! We left Thurs. afternoon after MJ & I picked LG up from school - (LG has worn angle wings (see 1st pic) to school for the past 2 days. She said some people laughed at them on Wed. so I was surprised/impressed when she wanted to wear them on Thurs! Her teacher asked me, "Well, I guess LG wants to wear the wings?" I wanted to say, "oh no, I MADE her wear them," but, her teacher is so sweet I couldn't play a joke on her :))

We arrived in time for an early dinner - we walked to AJ's & sat outside & enjoyed a delicious meal. On our walk back, MJ started walking funny & we quickly noticed that her diaper was so wet it was sagging close to the ground & she pulled it off! Once home, we put the girls to bed & mom & I stayed up til about midnight watching Millionare Matchmaker - hilarious! We enjoyed breakfast at the Breakfast Club & Sunrise (buffet-yeh, trouble), Marlin Monroe's for lunch on the beach, Cousin Vinnie's for a lil pizza in, icecream, a trip to the park, many beach trips & we enjoyed a cookout at Martha's with family. All in all a great weekend!
Trip home, beautiful...atleast the scenery was :)
MJ's thinks she is singing like LG...not so much.
