Sleeping in the Tub

UPDATE: Poor little MJ is finally over her stomach bug. Yesterday was the first day that she didn't throw up - this was the strangest bug. She didn't get sick on Sat. so I thought she was over it & then she continued throwing up every other day for a WEEK! Daddy ended up having a 24 hour bug on Wednesday, too - yuck! Be gone, bug, be gone...

Around 6 pm Friday night I heard MJ fussing in her crib...what did I find when I opened the door? Yep, throw up...aaaggghhh! I immediately took her to the bathroom & placed her in the tub...thank goodness, because then, there was MORE throw up. I drained the "throw up" water & refilled the tub. I remember when LG was about this age she did the same thing...throw up & then be COMPLETELY fine? Until..."it" came again. I basically walked behind MJ the whole time she was awake & as soon as I heard "the noise" I prepared myself. At first she wanted me to hold her so I kept a towel with me to catch "it." When she decided she was ready to walk around Chris & I had a discussion about what we could use to catch "it"...see Exhibit A (Daddy) & B (Mama) ...

Exhibit A - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Exhibit B

Although Daddy had a great suggestion I went with my own - afterall, I was the one who had to catch "it." Just envision sweet little MJ walking around, I hear the warning noise coming from her little body & immediately move her to the hardwood floors (can't have throw up on the rugs) and start SHOVING the green thing in her face HOPING she will ring it! Of course, she's in the midst of throwing up & is NOT real excited about having this in her face & is making me quite aware of this by moving her face AWAY from the green thing - yeh...I'll just let you imagine. Didn't work out so well. Once bedtime arrived, I knew I couldn't put her in her crib...oh, the horror! So...where did she sleep? THE BATHTUB...without water, of course! Daddy made her a cozy little palette & she was sound asleep before we knew it! EASY clean up, too! It was rough from about 6pm to 9 pm, but, then all was well. Thank you, Lord-Please keep the rest of us well!

Pink House

LG (as we pass a pink house): "Mama, did you see that PINK house? Oooh, I like that house!"
M: "You do?"
LG: "Yeh! You KNOW how I like pink...can we get the painter boys to paint OUR house pink?"
M: "You can ask Daddy." (Hoping she really will when I'm around, so I can see his reaction)
LG: "Why are Daddies always in charge?"
M: "Well, that's what the Bible says." (Among other things :) Eph. 5:22-33)
LG: "Well, I wish Mommies were in charge...I'm tired of Daddies being in charge!"

Happy Birthday, Honey & Papa!

Surprise Papa! - - - - - - - - - All Smiles

Well, for ONE day each year, Honey is 2 years older than Papa for one day (sorry, Honey) & TODAY is that day! LG & I were busy yesterday baking cupcakes & today we surprised Papa at work with them...the girls LOVED eating cupcakes with Papa at his office. We then went to see Honey & delivered her homemade cupcake :) We Love You, H & P - what a blessing you are to our family!

Artistic Repeat - Smurf Style

UPDATE: Many of you have emailed & asked for more detail on this situation :) LG was told to stay in the bathroom until she cleaned ALL of the blue off of her face by herself - yes, it took a while. We also told her she could not watch any TV the next day (I equate this to taking a 16 yr. old's car away - the mom is "punished" as well), which is like taking one of her limbs from her, and the markers were taken away as well :(

2005 & 2009 LG's not too sure about having '09 documented

I like my new look.....................Wait, we're in trouble? waah...

This is what Daddy found when he went into MJ's room to get her out of her crib. She & LG had been "playing" in her crib & somehow, markers made their way into the crib, onto their faces, hands, feet, THE WALL, the crib...it was just an art show all around! Daddy was NOT happy & of course, I HAD to get the camera - yeh, he wasn't real happy about that either! He scrubbed MJ's wall & the crib (before I could document the damage). I took the girls to LG's room, said I was very disappointed in "their" decision (like MJ had a CLUE), discussed LG's punishment & started "clicking" while trying to keep a straight face while seeing blue skin through the lens...

Bedtime Conversation

LG: Mama, where's Heaven?
M (thinking I don't want to answer, "in the sky"): Well, it's where we go if Jesus lives in our heart.
LG: But, what planet is it on?
M: I don't think it's on a planet...it's its own place. (Ok, this is getting tough)
LG: Oh, but, how does Jesus fit in our heart?
M (thinking "here we go"): Well, really the Holy Spirit lives in our heart, if we ask Him to. You know, Jesus died on the cross for our...
LG (interrupting with a grin): spankings!
M: Yeh, our sins & spankings...& since He was a man He couldn't REALLY fit in our hearts so the Holy Spirit lives in our hearts - (& then I couldn't resist) You know there's Jesus, God - Jesus' Father, & the Holy Spirit? (SILENCE...I'm thinking LG's really taking this in...THEN)
LG: Mama, is Poo-Kitty a boy or a girl?
M (PK is dead, so I'm wondering where this is going): Um, a girl.
LG: Well, I think Poo-Kitty sounds like a boy name.
M: Yeh, it kinda does, doesn't it?
LG: Yeh, I'm gonna nickname her "Emma."
M (thinking, "ok, I think the Trinity 'lost' LG"): Ok, I like that name :)

Pajama Day

AB & LG - - - - - - - - - - Chick-fil-a drive thru :)
Today was pajama day for LG...boy, was she excited. As I've said before, she is just like me in the fact that she would live in her pj's if she could! I caught this pic of LG & AB on the playground when I arrived to pick LG up from school. We then went to chick-fil-a to pick up some lunch - another of our favorites! LG looks so grown up all of the sudden? ~ I love you, LG!

Mrs. Christian outdid herself this year with the Mardi Gras party that she threw! Everyone had a blast. The kids were able to decorate their bikes/wagons & ride in the parade down the driveway - too cute! There were beads, beads & more beads. The food was delicious &, of course, the kids loved the Kings Cake :) Thanks for a GREAT celebration, Mrs. C!

Cheeseburger Tree

LG was enjoying a DQ cheeseburger for lunch today when she saw a hamburger bun seed on the table:
LG (running into the kitchen): "Mama, look what I found...a cheeseburger seed!"
M: "wow...that's REALLY cool"
LG: "you think if I plant this tiny seed I can grow a cheeseburger tree?"
M: "I don't know...maybe so? You want to go plant it?"
LG: "No, I think I'll just save it for later."

Blondes DO have more fun

I LOVE cutting Lola Grace's hair...I think I should have gone to cosmotology school. Tonight I cut her hair after bathtime & you KNOW that led to a conversation:

LG (as she sees her cut hair in the tub): Mama, why is my hair brown?
M: well, your hair looks darker when it's wet & when it dries, it looks lighter.
LG (looking at her cut BROWN hair in the tub): Well, I think it looks boring!
M: you do?!?
LG: Yeh...it looks like YOUR hair!
Good thing I'm NOT looking to LG for my self-confidence...LOL! She did LOVE her haircut, though...once it dried blond!

PJ's in Heaven

Car conversation on the way to FPD this morning...
LG: "Mama, I haven't been dead in a long time."
M (not quite sure where this is headed): "No, you haven't, have you?"
LG: "No, but, when I go to Heaven, I'll have a new body."
M: "Yeh, that's right!"
LG: "And, my body will stay here in Macon, GA...but, Mama, will I wear my uniform to Heaven?"
M: "No, I don't think so?"
LG: "But, what if I'm in school?"
M: "Well, I think your uniform will just stay here...?"
LG: "But, Mama, will I go to Heaven naked?"
M (trying not to laugh): "No, baby, you'll have everything you need in Heaven...what do you want to wear in Heaven?"
LG (with a HUGE grin on her face): "PAJAMAS!!!"
Such a girl after my own heart...I love you, LG!
