Can I please play?

Monday, Wednesday & Friday I hear the question "Mama, can I please play with Emory today?" LG & E both attend Ingleside Baptist Church preschool and get so excited when they get to play together after school.

MJ Found Her Toes

Well, this morning Maddie James found her feet...so cute! All of the sudden, she looked down and saw them! (I ususally have her feet covered up since it's cold) She started wiggling her toes and tried to coordinate her hands to reach down and "get" them - such concentration for an 11 week old. Aren't the simple things in life truly wonderful! My precious "baby" will be 3 months old tomorrow!!! She is such a blessing to our family! Thank you, Lord!

LG the "Potty Cleaner"

Before going to lunch at Chick-fil-A, LG and I had the following conversation:

  • Mom: "LG, go ahead and use the restroom before u go to chick-fil-a -- since a lot of people use their potties and they are a little dirty -- just go use your own."

  • LG: "But Mama, my potty is dirty!" (Ok, now, I'm busted by my 4 yr. old - I don't like to clean potties!)

  • Mom: "Well, that's ok, why don't you go use MY potty?!" (Trying to make her feel like this is really special and getting her mind off of HER dirty potty)

  • LG: "But Mama, your potty is REALLY dirty!" (Busted for a 2nd time!)

  • Mom: "You know who we need to tell about our dirty potties....DADDY; he will clean them."
  • LG: "Mama, I'll clean the potties for you!"
  • Mom: Öh, thank you LG, but let's let Daddy do that...you just go potty."
Meanwhile, my mom and I are talking and I hear LG running up and down the hallway laughing a little...something is not quite right...I get up to check on her and sure enough, she is CLEANING the potties with the potty brush...scrubbing one and running down the hallway with a dripping potty brush to the next DIRTY potty laughing the whole way!!! AAAGGGGHHH!!! Now Daddy will also need to mop the bathroom and hallway floors - Oh Well!

Tuesdays with Honey

Tuesday is gymnastics day for LG...Honey picks her up for her 9:35 am class. (Mommy gets to stay home in her pj's and do NOTHINIG...thank u Honey!!!) Today they are running errands afterward, going to Chick-fil-A for lunch and then heading to the movie theater to watch Veggie Tales! Last week they went to LG's 1st movie at the theater (Alvin & the Chipmunks). LG lasted through the whole movie (of course, the popcorn & candy helped) and loved every minute of it! She and Honey were the only people in the theater and LG couldn't believe how big the screen was! Love this picture of them Halloween '07 (night before MJ was born...Honey & Papa took LG trick-or-treating).

Where's Me?

"Where's Me?" is what my precious husband asked me when I showed him MY new blog...for those of you who know our family you will get a BIG kick out of Chris asking that question (we know everything is ALL ABOUT CHRIS)! So I have added his pic, along with one of LG's dress up outfits (yes, she puts them together herself...who said ballerinas can't dance in rainboots???) and MJ's sweet smile.

My Little Angels

OK, I just finished breastfeeding my 11 week old, Maddie James...it has become such habit and at the same time I know it will be over so soon and I will miss it! She is smiling and cooing - she wants to talk SO bad. LG can always get her to smile!
Lola Grace (4 years old) has been playing dress-up and singing at the top of her lungs (she's pretty good!) while Daddy watches football and I blog next to him. LG has also been playing with her imaginary friends, Harlen, Alania, Nicholas (who is a girl) & Asa (also a girl). Such a joy to listen to her singing & playing! Daddy & LG played the "ball" game where they throw the ball back and forth and count to 100...parenting takes such patience :-)
LG, MJ and I sat in LG's bed last night and read a bedtime story & then said our prayers (Daddy normally does this with LG, but we had a party and our babysitter fell through so mommy stayed at home). It is always so comforting to know that I have completed another day and my precious children are safe, healthy and sound asleep in their cozy beds!

First time for everything...

Well, this is exciting...my first post on my very own blog! Who am I writing to? I guess myself-ha! I hope to use this as a journal of our life as a family...days seem to go by so quickly (some not so quickly) and before I know it I can't remember much of what has happened! Cheers to keeping memories of our lives as they happen for my husband, myself and our two precious girls - Here goes...
