Babysitter

Mom: "LG, we need to clean the house because a babysitter is coming tonight."
LG: "Oh, who?"
Mom (not remembering her name): "One of the girls that ran track for Daddy last year at FPD."
LG: "Oohhhh, you mean, one of Daddy's girlfriends?"
Mom: "uuhhh, yeehhh????"

Rapunzel

LG loves the movie Rapunzel & when she asks to watch it Daddy reponds with, "Rapunzel, Rapunzel let down your stinky hair." It makes me laugh every time. Being so long, her hair probably was pretty stinky :-)

Tooth Fairy

Uncle Pi babysat the girls tonight - I went to Art Class & Daddy had a meeting. Unlce Pi brought a book over with him that Matoo gave him as a child & read some of the stories to LG...one of them was about the tooth fairy. Uncle Pi was explaining to LG about the tooth fairy & the following conversation took place:
UP: "Well, when you loose a tooth, the tooth fairy comes & leaves you money."
LG: "Oh, I LOVE money...how do my teeth come out?"
UP went on to explain how you can get your loose tooth out...tie a string, the door, we all know the drill...
Later, as LG was in the bathroom getting ready for bed, Unlce Pi kept hearing a strange noise...he looked over & LG had my pink tweezers trying TO PULL OUT HER TOOTH--NO, her tooth was NOT loose!

We love your determination, LG, however, PLEASE wait for your teeth to get LOOSE before trying to pull them out!

Unlce Pi is "Home"

Well, Uncle Pi arrived around 10:30 pm on Thursday after a long, delayed flight - he was due to arrive around 6! The girls & I were excitedly waiting at Honey & Papa's house for him. We ended up spending the night (Daddy was in Vegas) & all woke up to Papa & LG making pancakes for everyone. We then left for a long weekend in Tybee. We enjoyed a boat ride on Sunday & Papa impressed us with his docking abilities-hee, hee.

Never Judge A Book by It's Cover

LG: "Daddy!!! There's a spider in my room!"
Dad: "Ok...hold on, I'll be there in a minute." (Even a 4 yr. old knows that means atleast 20 min)
All of the sudden we hear LG running down the hallway & she proudly enters the living room...
LG: "'Daddy!!! Don't worry, I got the spider!"
Dad: "YOU DID?"
LG: "Yeh, loooook!"
I guess LG has seen us "smash" a few bugs at our house? Yeh...that's the poor spider smashed & smeared on LG's magnetic princess dress...I'm actually pretty impressed that she "smashed" it - she even took the pics of the aftermath. And, yes, Daddy was in charge of removing the spider from the back of the dress :-)

The Girls

Hey, whose that cute baby? - MJ the Republican

LG's first ride in a convertible...Isn't it great when your car goes to the "shop" and this is what you get - thanks, Mo!

GO FPD!

This is fun...

Wooohoooo....

Wait, what are we doing?

LG went to cheerleading camp this summer at FPD, so all the "campers" got to cheer at the game Friday night...too cute!

Mommy Got the Straightener Out...

Yes, I am embarrased to admit that I straightened LG's hair...she had school pics last week & that morning, before I knew what had happened, I had busted out the straightener & was out of control! I couldn't stop...LG was VERY patient as I kept repeating, "be still, this could burn you." I love you, LG!

Human Robot Girl

LG joins me in bed this morning while Daddy is exercising:

LG: "Mama, I wish I was a human robot girl."
Mom: "You do? That would be fun, wouldn't it? (thinking in my mind - what in the WORLD?)
LG: "Yeh, but not with buttons. Just so I could move my head around my back and sideways and the front and sideways."
Mom: "Ooohhhh, yeh, where did you learn about the HRG?"
LG: "I didn't - I saw her on The Wizard of Oz."

I think I may have to watch the movie to see if I can figure out what she is talking about...I don't recall a human robot girl. :-)

HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY, OMA!

Yes, you read that correctly...Chris' grandmother turns 100 today!

We flew to Washington, DC on Saturday & had a celebration on Sunday at noon. There were 100 guests, a slide show, gifts, a delicious buffet & Kathleen gave a fabulous "look back" on Oma's life that was amazing. Jennifer had put together a whole other slide show for Kathleen's presentation. The day was full of laughter, fellowship & tears! We ended the 4 hour party with champagne toasts & cake. AND, not to mention, Oma got up in front of everyone & gave a "speech" & blessed the food! She is truly amazing & LOVED every minute of her celebration!

Woody, her 90 year old brother & only living sibling out of 9, came in from California to celebrate too. On the ride home, Chris said, "Well, Oma, are you tired?" And, without skipping a beat, she said, "no." We were exhausted!

Just a few memories:
-Dave's "smelly breath" neighbor on the flight over - coffee filter & an unmentionable mixed together
-2 hour rental car fiasco - Seinfeld episode (except Seinfeld is FUNNY)!
(FASTBREAK...not so fast. Notice Dave & Cha-Cha inside CALMLY asking WHERE ARE OUR CARS?????)
-Sitting in gum waiting on rental car - atleast I had TIME to pick it off my pants.
-Awesome hotel
-Mexican restaurant for dinner
-Woody stories
(check out that belt & tie)
-B.H. talks
-Tucker tee-teeing on Brian's shoe - he was so glad to see you!
-Shopping
-Bye, bye BB&T corporate credit card - whoops.
-Pizza at Oma's house
-Cheesecake Factory for dinner: "whatever song", asparagus story.
-Flight home: As I find my seat & sit down, the guy I have to crawl over is eating a bag of M&M's...you know I couldn't resist my urge & so I ask him: "do you mind if I have a couple of those?" He looks at me like I've LOST my mind, and then offers me the bag. Of course, I told him, I was just joking. And, yes, he was relieved...no, I didn't take any!
