Gratitude for Papa

Papa came by and finished the outdoor lighting yesterday...Chris & LG attempted to help him. We didn't want a lot of wires showing so he dug UNDER our front walkway (hence, the picture) and put the wires through - it was a little bigger project than he had anticipated but he DID IT!!! Thanks, PAPA! We appreciate you always being so willing to help us - (He even babysat the girls by HIMSELF last week so I could go to Chris' end of the year track banquet). I love you, Papa!

Oh, Happy Day

A beautiful day at Blue's pool...Saturday the girls had a great time splashing, jumping, swimming & floating.

Feeding MJ

We all share in the responsibility of feeding MJ - she gets SO EXCITED when it is time to eat! The pic w. Daddy is honestly what I walked in to find while he was feeding her (on our bed...oh, yeah, there was sweet potato on the sheets)...do you ever get the idea that guys do a poor job so maybe we won't ask them to do it again?!? I mean, seriously, half of the jar is on her FACE! The bottom pic is of course once I took over (in my slight OCD manner-ha!) Of course, what truly matters is that MJ DOESN'T CARE HOW she is fed, just as long as it happens! Thanks, LG & Daddy!

Shirley Temple with Cherries, Please

We love our sisters -------------- Don't worry, MJ, I'll get you out!

We met the Butler girls for lunch today...the "big" girls and the "babies" had fun playing with each other! Jessica & I showed up wearing the same shirt & we have the same stroller so we got some funny looks -- Great minds think alike-ha! For LG & MB there is nothing better than a grilled cheese & shirley temple with cherries!

I've Been Tagged

There's a first time for everything & this is the first time I've been blog "tagged." Payton tagged me for this meme: 6 Quirky Things About You. Here are the rules:
*Link the person who tagged you.
*Mention the rules in your blog.
*Tell about six unspectacular quirks of yours.
*Tag a new set of six following bloggers by linking them.

Hope's Six Quirks:

  1. Don't like to share food, candy, drinks, etc., ok, anything (need to work on this!) I guess this is not really a quirk, but me just being SELFISH.
  2. Like to smell my pillow when going to sleep - usually take it on trips
  3. When I come home, I change into my pj's - no matter what time it is
  4. LOVE being in my house with my garage door CLOSED (my hermit tendencies)
  5. Throw dirty diapers in garage - I'm too lazy to take them to the outside trashcan (really not good when #4 takes place at the same time)
  6. Drive around at night so I can see in people's houses - don't worry, I don't want to see people just what's in the house - & no, I'm not a burglar!

Now, for the tagging...I tag Keely, Michelle & Natalie

LG & Daddy Conversation

LG "The Thinker"

The following conversation took place between LG & Daddy while Mommy was NOT at home:

LG: (entering with granola bar BOX) "Daddy, I want a dessert..."
D: "You do?"
LG: Yeah, but I can't have a dessert (Having already eaten her cookie that came with her meal).
D: "Why not?"
LG: "Because I disobeyed Mommy today & she said I couldn't have dessert...so let's just call it a SNACK!"

MJ's Dedication - Round 2

Honey found MJ's dress in NC antique store

MJ's gotten a hold of LG's hair! -- Happy Wilson

It is a beautiful sunny day & MJ was successfully dedicated at IBC this morning at the 11:oo service...ChaCha, LG, Doc, Summi, Bryan, Alexis, Josh, Brynna, Law, Dave, Honey & Papa (drove in from Tybee this am - thank you!) were all there to support (& Wilson in the nursery). Afterwards, we all enjoyed a delicious lunch at IHCC. Thank you, Lord, for such a special day!

MJ - Daddy & I love you and are filled with joy & thankfulness that God has entrusted us with you while on this earth. Our prayer is that you choose to accept Christ as your personal Savior at an early age and that your joyful spirit continues to flourish. Proverbs 4:23 "Above all else, guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life." I love you!

As we were waiting in the santuary w. MJ to go on stage we gave her a piece of (what we thought was thick) paper to entertain herself with and she immediately ate a chunck of it and started gagging, so I had to perform a couple of finger swipes (making her gag more & of course, LOUDER)!

The only comment LG had about the whole thing was, "but, Daddy, I wanted to be on stage so everybody could see me" to which Chris answered, "I know, LG...you're just like daddy!"

Dance the Night Away

Isn't this fun V & TC ?!?

I love when you give me the fish-hook - We put our arms around each other by ourselves

We enjoyed a relaxing dinner at the Berg's last night - take out from IHCC. The babies loved playing with each other and LG was so entertained by dancing with V & TC. I can't tell you how many times we heard, "Dance with me, TC." Dance moves included the elevator, airplane, escalator, swinging and basically a lot of jumping around! LG slept until 8 am and TC said he doesn't remember the last time he was this sore!

Works For Me Wednesday - JM

Have you ever watched Joyce Meyer? (I know those of you who are in bible study with me are rolling your eyes right now!) She is incredible...if you ever want to start your day off with a little pick me up, then tune in to Joyce - she is on channel 26 at 8 am and 41 at 8:30 am & channel 12 at 8 pm. Her teachings are so "down to earth", extremely practical & thought provoking...I enjoy her sense of humor, too! You can also visit her website at http://www.joycemeyer.org/ and listen to her there or find listings for your own area. I highly recommend her book Managing Your Emotions (Instead of Your Emotions Managing You)! Visit Shannon over at Rocks in My Dryer for more WFMW tips!

MJ's 1st Words

OK, stop rolling your eyes...yes, my baby is a genious (just as your is) and can talk at the ripe old age of 6 months. I swear she has been saying "hey" (with a HUGE grin on her face) since she was about 3 months old and now LG has taught her to say "Lola." Too cute, if I may say so myself.
Of course, if a non-family member were to hear these words from MJ there is no telling what your interpretation would be :-)

Wilson House Mother's Day

Well, a tornado came through Macon over the weekend and we just got our power back yesterday around 1:30 pm...SOOOOO, needless to say our Mother's Day plans of having MJ dedicated at Church and then having a celebratory lunch with family afterwards did NOT happen!!!

We woke up to tornado sirens around 5:30 am Sunday and wondered why we were SO HOT - oh, we have NO ELECTRICITY - no phone, no tv, no light, no fan...NOTHING!!! Around 7:30 am we started calling family from my cellphone (Chris' had no power left) to see what the heck was going on. Around 8:00 am we started scrambling trying to decide how we were going to get everyone ready for MJ's dedication - don't you LOVE Sunday mornings (not to mention, Mother's Day) when everyone is FREAKING OUT before even making it out the door for Church - makes me laugh just thinking about it!!! I told Chris I thought we should just bag the dedication and he said, "We can't miss our own childs' baby dedication" to which I answered, "OH, YES, WE CAN!!! IF I DON'T GET TO TAKE A SHOWER & FIX MY HAIR I'M NOT GOING!!!" Yea, I'm known for being a loving, submissive wife - hee, hee. At this point we have 30 minutes before we are expected at church - ladies, we ALL know that ain't happening!!! And, it didn't...Church was cancelled, the Wilson clan road around town and looked at the damage, went to Krystal at 11:30 - waited in the drive-through for 10 minutes, placed our lunch order & she said, "sir, we are still serving breakfast"! And the hits keep on coming! I think I'll pretend this Mother's Day didn't happen.

On a serious note, we were VERY fortunate that nothing happened to our home! Thank you, Lord.

MJ's New Tricks

"Lapping" water from a cup

Holding my own bottle
Did I mention I LOVE my Daddy?!

Happy 99% of the time (Old trick!)

Daddy's Life

Well, Chris returned home today from North Carolina...yea, poor thing HAD to fly up there and play 4 rounds of golf at Pinehurst (including the famous #2 where the US Open is played) for "business." Isn't life grand (for Chris, that is-ha.)? Actually, I am happy for him when he is offered these wonderful out-of-town oppurtunities and I get to stay home with the kids - I think lightning just struck. In all honesty, my life is pretty grand as well!

More Car Conversations

LG: "Mama, when I grow up I'll marry a husband, right?"
Mom: "That's right."
LG: "And I want to have 5 babies in my tummy."
M: "That's a lot of babies...remember how big mommy's tummy was with just MJ in it?"
LG: "Yeah, but I can have 5 in mine."
(Don't worry, I'll whip out this blog when LG is pregnant, with hopefully no more than twins, for her sake.)
LG: "See the white clouds, mama?"
M: "Yeah, the sky sure is pretty today."
LG: "I wish I could be in the sky."
M: "You do? What would you do up there?"
LG: "Just play...jump on the clouds...it would be so fun!"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LG (as MJ is loudly crying in the car): "Mama, I don't want a baby anymore!"
M: "You don't? Who do you want to give her to?"
(LG is VERY surprised by this ? from me b/c I usually say LG we don't say things like that...that is not nice...that will hurt MJ's feelings, etc.)
LG: "I don't know" (with concern in her voice).
M: "Maybe we can just leave her on the beach?
LG: "Mama, we can't do that!"
M: "Why not? She'll be ok. I think she would like it."
LG: (after some 4 yr. old "deep" thinking silence) "Mama, I think I just want to keep her."
M: "OK, that's probably a good idea."

I tell you, it's hard "out-smarting" a 4 year old - HA!
And yes, we all LOVE you, MJ, and you're NOT going anywhere!!!

Confession

"HIDDEN" VIEW-----------------"BUSTED" VIEW!

Can you find the candy??? Yes, I have a confession to make...I hide candy from my family!!! I hid these starburst jellybeans (my favorite) from Chris last night under my "work" at my laptop as I heard him come in the room and GUESS WHO found them today...you got it - LG! She happened to be on the OTHER side of my laptop today & spotted them - I swear, a mom just can't win, can she??? I just want my own candy to myself to eat in peace - and yes, I WANT THE WHOLE BAG, OK???!!! I guess LG won't get a lesson from me today on sharing - HA! When she spotted them she said, "Mama, what are these?" My answer was "we're not having any of those right now (OR EVER IF MY WISH COMES TRUE). I didn't actually SAY that last part! She started moving the papers and so I repeat myself and she says "I just want to hold the bag!" Yea, folks that didn't happen either!
Moral of the story: Find a better hiding place...OK, or mature and SHARE!!! (I think I'll stick to the first one - just trying to be honest!)

We're Back

Thanks to those of you who missed me while "blogless!" Daddy had the state track meet in Albany last weekend so the girls & I headed to Tybee to join Honey...what fun we had! We kept adding a day to our stay and finally Chris asked if we were ever coming back - that's a hint that it's time to come home! (Thanks to V & TC for "Chris-sitting all week!")

Chris led the FPD girls to State Track Champions & the boys received Runner Up - Congrats!
