Daddy headed to Fripp this weekend for a golf tourney, so, Honey, the girls & I headed to Tybee.
We went to River Street and took a tour of the Peacemaker ship...very cool! While we were on the top of the ship a huge container ship came down the river. We then rode the ferry over to the Westin to see the Gingerbread Village...it was fascinating to see all of the different gingerbread houses! We had lunch upstairs overlooking the river & LG told the chef that that was the BEST grilled cheese she had ever had. She said she wanted to eat there everyday :) He appreciated the compliment & brought cookies back for the girls. They LOVED riding the escalator, too!

The next day, we headed downtown to the old Terminal Station for the Polar Express (on the way downtown, LG wrote her letter to Santa). Martha met us there and the girls had their faces painted, made ornaments, decorated & ate cookies & had hot chocolate. We then boarded the train to go visit Santa at the North Pole. The conductor led us in many Christmas carols & the girls were so excited. Once we reached the N. Pole, we could see Santa and he made his way onto our train! He gave a candy cane to each child and took pics. Once he got to LG, she showed him her letter & he asked her if he could take it with him (he looked at me with a grin & asked, "mom - do you have a copy of this letter?" Once we headed back to the Terminal Station, LG looked at me and said, "Mama, is that all?" I said, "Yeh, the train moved fast going to the N. Pole, didn't it?" Her response, was, "Mama, we coulda just walked there?! I know that wasn't REALLY the N. Pole!"
Ready for our ride to N. Pole - - - - - Santa reading LG's list
