Grandfather's Leg
The other day while I was in my room (okay, yes, I was in my bed) a granddaddy long leg crawled on me. I told LG about it and included the fact that I threw it in daddy's closet...really I just threw it OFF of ME & that's where he landed...poor fella.
Over Christmas break, LG had a friend over one night and they came in the kitchen saying they were scared to go down the hallway to LG's bedroom. I asked why they were scared and the following conversation took place:
Evans: "LG said that there was a grandfather's leg in your room and you threw it in Mr. Chris' closet! We want YOU to walk down the hall with us to LG's room!"
Me: "I responded with, "W...H...A...T???, LG what are you talking about???"
LG: "MAMA, remember when you said that there was a grandfather's leg in your room and you threw it in daddy's closet???"
I quickly racked my brain & remembered the Grandaddy Long Leg story and started laughing - the girls could NOT understand what was so funny about throwing a grandfather's leg in a closet. I was sure to fill them in on the REAL story...oh, the joys of childhood! :)

Merry Christmas & Happy Birthday, Jesus
We had a wonderful and relaxing Christmas! LG sang in the Christmas Eve service at church...she did such a great job! During the service they brought in a camel, sheep, a donkey and goats as they told the story of Jesus' birth. We then went outside for the live nativity. As LG looked in the manger at baby Jesus, she said, "that's not REALLY Jesus, it's just a doll :)"
The girls woke up around 7:30 and were excited to see what awaited them under the tree. Honey, Papa & Uncle Pi came over for a delicious lunch and more presents. That night, we went to Doc and Cha-Cha's for Fincher's and yes, you guessed, it...more presents! We are so grateful to have such a wonderful family! Thank you, Lord for our many blessings and most importantly, for sending Your One and Only Son for us! Happy Birthday, Jesus!

Happy 6th Birthday, LG!
Well, our first sweet baby turned 6 today! Last week I took cupcakes for her class and read "Lola Goes to the Library" and "If You Give A Pig A Party" but, when I read it I said, "if you give Lola Grace a party." After I finished the book, I gave each child a Happy Birthday balloon. They were so excited! Of course, that day was extra windy, so the picture below shows the kids holding on to their balloons for dear life as they were leaving for carpool...so cute!
Today, we spent the morning at ChuckECheese with your girlfriends playing games, eating pizza, dancing & taking pictures with ChuckE himself! After the girls ate their pizza and we sang happy birthday, none of the girls wanted to eat cake...they couldn't wait to go play more games, so that's what they did...well, except MJ :)
Daddy came from work for your celebration & kept asking me for more tokens :) Thankfully, Honey was there and kept watch over MJ! Cha-Cha and Doc also came just in time for ChuckE's arrival! We then came home and opened all of your wonderful presents...It was truly a special day!
ChuckE crowning LG.............all the girls
LG, MJ & ChuckE......atleast someone enjoyed the cake!
That night, we enjoyed pizza (again) for dinner, afterall, it was Monday, and you know what Monday means at the Wilson house :)
Lola Grace - Daddy and I love you with ALL of our hearts. You are truly a blessing to us and we are thankful that God has entrusted you to us as your parents while on this earth. You are such a special sister to MJ and she copies everything you do (always remember that)! You have a wonderful imagination and such a sweet spirit. We are very proud of you!

The Nutcracker
Mimi took the girls to The Nutcracker today...they had a blast! She said they sat through the whole thing and only got a little antsy towards the end :) LG told me that she and E are going to be IN The Nutcracker (according to LG, she wants to be Clara and E wants to be one of the "chocolates") so that when THEY have kids, Mimi can take their kids to see THEM in The Nutcracker - Good luck with that one, Mimi :)

Polar Express
Daddy headed to Fripp this weekend for a golf tourney, so, Honey, the girls & I headed to Tybee.

We went to River Street and took a tour of the Peacemaker ship...very cool! While we were on the top of the ship a huge container ship came down the river. We then rode the ferry over to the Westin to see the Gingerbread Village...it was fascinating to see all of the different gingerbread houses! We had lunch upstairs overlooking the river & LG told the chef that that was the BEST grilled cheese she had ever had. She said she wanted to eat there everyday :) He appreciated the compliment & brought cookies back for the girls. They LOVED riding the escalator, too!

Honey & girls on the ferry
The next day, we headed downtown to the old Terminal Station for the Polar Express (on the way downtown, LG wrote her letter to Santa). Martha met us there and the girls had their faces painted, made ornaments, decorated & ate cookies & had hot chocolate. We then boarded the train to go visit Santa at the North Pole. The conductor led us in many Christmas carols & the girls were so excited. Once we reached the N. Pole, we could see Santa and he made his way onto our train! He gave a candy cane to each child and took pics. Once he got to LG, she showed him her letter & he asked her if he could take it with him (he looked at me with a grin & asked, "mom - do you have a copy of this letter?" Once we headed back to the Terminal Station, LG looked at me and said, "Mama, is that all?" I said, "Yeh, the train moved fast going to the N. Pole, didn't it?" Her response, was, "Mama, we coulda just walked there?! I know that wasn't REALLY the N. Pole!"

A Tybee Thanksgiving
Well, this year was quite an interesting Thanksgiving :) We left on Tuesday afternoon and fortunately when we arrived the house was ready. The toilet in the master leaked about a month ago and Honey & Papa arrived one weekend to a flooded house! Hardwoods, ceilings, floorboards, molding, carpet...ruined. But, all is well now - gotta love insurance :)
On Thanksgiving Eve, Chris and I woke up to a "smokey" smell. We went downstairs & couldn't figure out where the smoke was coming from. We then noticed that the power was out...weird!? Long story short, come to find out, a drunk driver hit a power pole while trying to pass someone and cut all the power off to the island. We were the last house on the island to have it restored and were out of power for 12 HOURS on Thanksgiving day...so much for cooking! Mom had ordered TONS of delicious food from Harpins - we ate around 4 pm. We kept getting teased b/c the power would come on for about one minute & then go off. We took the turkey out of the frig & put it on the backporch to keep it cool...I put the dogs on the porch forgetting the turkey was out there and you can imagine the end to that story...Happy Thanksgiving, Dogs! Chris & I saw the GA Power truck out of the window & ran down the street to tell him we still didn't have power :) Nini & the Roux's joined us for dinner. The rest of the week was full of LG throwing up, golf, shopping, river street, the wii, beach, house hunting, no hot water & showering at the pos. Oh, and don't forget Umberta from Germany...we definitely made some memories!

Eating Feathers
Honey took the girls to Papa's office last week for the JBPS Thanksgiving luncheon. On the way downtown, Honey was telling them that they were going to eat turkey and LG said, "Ewwww, Honey, do I have to eat the FEATHERS!?, and I really don't wanna eat that gobbler thing!"

MJ turns 2!
Well, our sweet Maddie James celebrated her 2nd birthday...she had a costume party at the FPD Playground & the kids had a blast! We had cupcakes, that the ants got into, so mom & I were blowing the ants off as we were serving them...this is when it's good that it's a 2nd birthday party...they had NO idea :) I had a candle shaped in a "2" for MJ's cupcake & turned my back to get a lighter & she ATE the candle!!! So we sang to her with a half eaten 2 on her cupcake - hilarious! She was obsessed with her "2" balloon & carried it around the whole party - she even took a bath with it that night - oh, the simple joys of life!
Happy Birthday, sweet MJ! You are such a blessing to our whole family & we love you with all of our hearts!

Moooooooo
LG's class took a field trip to a dairy farm along with the other K classes. We drove about 45 minutes to get there & they got to see a cow milked & learned some interesting facts about cows :)

Check out the cows eyes in this pic :)
There was a wooden cross with a crown of thorns on top & the kids got so excited saying, "we found Jesus! He has to be buried somewhere near here, b/c here's the cross!" There was an adorable guest house on the property & a small chalkboard inside that read, "Jesus loves you." Once they saw that, they got excited all over again saying, "Look, Jesus was here & left us a message!" They started jumping up & down screaming with excitement...it was priceless!
